DOs

- Call us people (multiple members) or person (singular member)
- Call us system members, systemmates, beings, walk-ins, group, collective, system, or Ourobesties
- Use gender-neutral terms to refer to us
as a collective (examples: folks, you all, you&, y'all, you+, yous, peeps, people)
- Ask individual members for their boundaries

DON'Ts

- Call us alters, parts, headmates, or personalities
- Use gendered terms to refer to us as a collective, including for slang and memes
(examples: bro, sis, guys, dude, queen, king, girlie)
- Ask us about our origins or diagnoses
- Ask for the (nonexistent) host
- Hug without asking

We would appreciate it if you(&) do NOT make jokes at the expense of Homestuck, its fiction-folks (kin, fictive, hearted, etc.) or its fandom. It got stale the first 1000 times. This includes, but is not limited to:

- Making fun of valid chumhandles
- Making fun of typing quirks
- Making fun of Homestuck naming conventions (kid name, troll name, troll title)
- Making fun of quadrants and people using them in IRL relationships, or using them to ship non-Homestuck characters (e.g. shipping Bachelor ♠️ Haruspex)
- Shaming yourselves and/or others for liking Homestuck in your/their teens/younger days
- Calling anything related to Homestuck cringe or cursed, saying "how dare you", "this gives me psychic damage", joking American Tumblr-style threats like "I hate you" and "I'll kill you on the spot"

Source-Specific Code of Conduct

As Pathologic fiction-folks, we have a few source/fandom-specific things we want to set boundaries on:

- Absolutely NO jokes about the Bachelor/Daniil Dankovsky being a "failure blorbo" (e.g. "wants to defeat death, dies anyway", "poor little meow meow", "I want to mince him with a blender", "Daniil my beloathed", etc.),

or villain (e.g. calling him "Bitchelor", or saying he's the biggest asshole ever. For your information, ALL the healers are jerks! Saying the Bachelor is the most evil is trite and shows a deep misunderstanding of the character.),

or a Tumblr sexyman (or the fact that you're confused on why a lot of Pathologic fans are attracted to him)

- Please do not push us to fit canon, common fanon, or your headcanons. We will not apologize for being ourselves.

- Please do not bring up the secret ending of Pathologic Classic without asking us first. (If you don't know what that is, CW for unreality)
